Citizen Science

I believe that the scientific method is the best tool that we, as humans, have to understand our universe (or the simulation…).

My passion for science is almost equal to my passion for engineering.  Unfortunately, it’s much easier to choose one of these, as opposed to both, to pursue academically.  I chose engineering.  As I grow in age and experience, though, I intend to dive more into the sciences, academically.  I am currently working on a few different citizen science projects to get my feet wet, if you will.  I truly enjoy them.  I have a dream of one day going to Antarctica to see the antarctic penguins with my own eyes.  I would love to study the penguins in person, as well as the effect of climate change on Earth’s poles (another huge passion of mine that will become obvious as you explore this site).

Below are some of the Citizen Science projects I have been contributing to!

Penguins!

MAPPPD: Mapping Application for Penguin Populations and Projected Dynamics

Planet 9

Backyard Worlds: Planet 9.  Helping scan Kuiper Belt data for a large mass that could explain the odd clustering of extreme trans-Neptunian objects (ETNOs).

Mars Mappers

Helping NASA identify craters and other features on Mars.

I See Change

Helping the global community map climate change.

Snowflake ID

Help scientists classify snowflakes to better understand climate change!
